A suspect is facing charges after allegedly firing shots at adults and children during a home invasion. The Laurens County Sheriff's Office responded to the area of Irwin Road in Laurens, on a report of shots fired the day after Christmas.
When deputies arrived they learned that the victims along with small children all ran into the woods while being shot at. A Deputy went into the woods to find the victims and was able to get them to safety.
The suspect Jerrel Issac Lewis was later taken into custody. He's charged with 1st degree burglary, resisting arrest, a weapons violation and other crimes. Lewis is being held without bond in Laurens County.
