Offices of the governor and South Carolina Emergency Preparedness are on alert because of a pair of potential hurricanes in the Atlantic basin.
State Emergency Management says Imelda is likely to gain hurricane status by the end of the weekend and two forecast models show it's path bending toward the Carolina coastline.
The tracking is tougher than usual because of the close proximity of Humberto, a potential category-two hurricane whose outer bands are nearly mingling with Imelda's.
In any case, the governor's office is urging Lowcountry residents to stay tuned to the changing forecasts and download the 2025 Hurricane Guide, available in English and Spanish, at the link below.
