
A mother from the Midlands is facing charges after reportedly helping their teenager escape from the Department of Juvenile Justice facility in Columbia.
Officials say the 16 year old escaped Sunday evening. The teen was later located in their mother's car and was apprehended.
The teenager is being charged with escape. The mother, Savannah Mills was also arrested and is charged with aiding the escape.
DJJ Officials say they will not release the identity of the teenager or their original charges due to privacy laws.
