The suspect who took his own life after injuring a woman in a shooting in Downtown Laurens, Tuesday afternoon. As we previously reported, the Laurens Police Department responded just after 2PM to a home health care office on East Public Square.
Upon arrival, police found a man dead on the scene and a woman who was injured. The deceased has been identified as 40 year old, Justin Sherman Allen. The victim was airlifted to the hospital to be treated.
Investigators said the victim was Allen's ex-wife. Allen's gunshot wounds were said to be self inflicted and two guns were found near his body.
Allen had been released from jail just hours before the shooting, he had been charged with domestic violence.
