After more than a decade an arrest has been made in an Upstate murder case. Officials say 33 year old, Jesse Eugene Mulkey was fatally shot on Brock Road in Oconee County, in December of 2015.
Coax Arnold Sanford V was identified as the suspect at the time of the incident. He claimed the shooting was in self defense.
The Oconee County Sheriff's Office says both men were armed and the shooting happened after a confrontation between them at the home of a woman they were both acquainted with.
Investigators say evidence found recently led them to determine that the shooting was not in self defense. Sanford was arrested Monday, he's charged with murder and a weapons violation.
Sanford has been denied bond for now and is set to be in circuit court for a bond hearing at a later date.
