An arrest has been made after the remains of a missing man were found in Cherokee County, last month. As we previously reported, deputies found human remains on a property on Robbs School Road in Gaffney.
Last week those remains were identified as those of Kevin Scott Brookshire of Chesnee. He had been reported missing nearly four years ago.
The Sheriff's Office say 21 year old, John Lucas Rice was arrested Friday in connection to Brookshire's death, he's charged with murder. Investigators say Rice confessed to killing Brookshire in December of 2021.
Investigators have not disclosed a possible motive as the murder remains under investigation.
