NASCAR'S Greg Biffle, his family & others killed in jet crash

A NASCAR legend, his family and three others are dead after their private jet crashed in North Carolina, Thursday. Officials say seven people died after aircraft caught fire after the crash at Statesville Regional Airport.

NASCAR Driver Greg Biffle, his wife, son and daughter all died in the crash. Others that were onboard also were killed. They include Craig Wadsworth and father-son duo Dennis and Jack Dutton.

Biffle had a long and storied run winning 19 NASCAR races over his 15 year career driving in the Cup Series. His best season came in 2005 when he won five races. Biffle was named to NASCAR'S 75 Greatest Drivers List in 2023.

Beyond racing, Biffle was known for his philanthropic efforts. During the devastation of Hurricane Helene Biffle commissioned his own helicopter to help with the rescue efforts in Western North Carolina .Greg Biffle was 55 years old.
