It seems to be a false alarm after a reported school shooting in Western North Carolina.
The McDowell County Sheriff's Office and Emergency Management personnel responded Tuesday morning to a reported shooting at McDowell High School.
The building was secured and searched and no evidence of a shooting was found. The Sheriff's Office says there were no victims found and there wasn't anyone at the school who reported hearing shots fired.
The School District then announced early dismissal for both McDowell High and West McDowell Middle School.
