A North Georgia teenager is dead after he drowned in an Upstate lake over the holiday weekend. The Oconee County Coroner's Office says a body was recovered from Lake Hartwell Saturday. That came after 1st responders were dispatched to Harts Cove Apartments near Seneca.
The victim 19 year old Kayden Jabara of Jackson County Georgia, was reportedly found in the water about 60 feet from the shore at the apartment complex. Officials say, Jabara was swimming with friends, early Saturday morning when he went under and never resurfaced.
The Coroner's Office says his body was located and recovered hours later after he was found in about 17 feet of water.
