An administrator in one Upstate County has been fired by the county's leadership. Oconee County Administrator Amanda Brock was terminated Tuesday after the County Council voted unanimously to fire her over what they say is a "loss of trust".

Council Chairman Matt Durham says Brock did not inform the council of a trip she took on a private jet owned by United Homes Group in January of last year.

Brock reportedly failed to disclose information about the trip which was to Purdue University to tour a development project similar to the one that United Homes Group or UHG has proposed for the Newry Community of Oconee County, which is just a few miles from Clemson University.

UHG and Oconee County officials have been at odds since the Council voted to deny the proposed development of over 5,000 new homes in Newry. Durham has been leading the charge against the development and has been publicly outspoken against it.

Durham's contention is that the development would grossly violate the county's density standards. The County says Tourism Director Phil Shirley has been appointed Interim County Administrator.
