The Greenville County School District held a dedication ceremony for their news School Security Center. The building is named in the honor of Sergeant Conley Jumper who died in the line of duty.
Jumper was hit by a vehicle that a suspect was driving while trying to flee a traffic stop on I-85 near White Horse Road, five years ago this month. The new facility is located on Space Drive in Taylors.
The ceremony featured remarks from Greenville County School Superintendent Dr. Burke Royster and Deputy Cat Jumper, the daughter of the late Sergeant Jumper.
The School Security Center serves as a hub for training, coordination, and rapid response.
