Details have surfaced after an Upstate police officer was involved in a crash, Wednesday evening. As we previously reported, an officer from the Easley Police Department was involved in a crash on Highway 123 near Rock Spring Road around 5:30PM.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol now says the officer was in a left turning lane, when he saw a vehicle run the red light. When the officer went after the vehicle, he pulled into the intersection and was hit by another vehicle.
The officer has been cited for failure to obey a traffic device. No injuries were reported in the crash.
