An Upstate middle school student is facing charges after posting what was described as a threatening message on social media. Officials from Laurens County School District 55 say that an 8th grader at Gray Court-Owings Middle School used SnapChat to post a threatening message related to the school.
The incident happened around noon Friday, administrators and the school resource officer were notified immediately. The Laurens County Sheriff's Office took the student into custody and says the student will be charged for the threat. District Officials says no weapons were found on campus. This incident comes just one day after a student was fatally shot at Tanglewood Middle School in Greenville
