An arrest has been made following two reported purse snatchings in the Upstate. The Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office responded to a reported purse snatching and assault last Wednesday.
Then, this past Saturday the Spartanburg Police Department responded to a similar incident. The same vehicle was used in both robberies. On Monday, a deputy while on patrol saw the suspect vehicle parked at a hotel on Asheville Highway.
The tag of the vehicle came back stolen, but investigators were able to identify the suspect, as James Robert Seibles. He was then located in a room at the USA Economy Lodge and was taken into custody. Seibles is charged with strong armed robbery, 1st degree assault and receiving stolen goods.
