
Three people from the Upstate including a former corrections officer are facing charges for sending drugs to over a dozen prisons around the state. The State Department of Corrections says three suspects were hiding the drugs inside books.
Officials say sheets of paper were laced with suboxone and synthetic marijuana. All of the books were mailed from the Woodruff Post Office. 36 year old, Shataysha Lewis of Woodruff a former officer at Evans Correctional is charged with intent to distribute, providing contraband and conspiracy.
41 year old, Devin Jamal Kershaw of Chesnee is charged with possession of suboxone, furnishing contraband, conspiracy and a weapons violation. 36 year old, Coure Romaine Terry also of Chesnee has been charged with intent to distribute marijuana.
