Three people from the Upstate have been sentenced to prison in connection to drug overdose deaths.
The South Carolina Attorney General's Office says three suspects in a drug case called the "Devil In Disguise" are tied directly to fentanyl overdose deaths.
The three suspects Amanda Raye Massengale, David Harrison Thrift, and Dean Morris Wolvington.
The Attorney General's Office says in 2022 Massengale distributed fentanyl to Wolvington, who then sold the drugs to 24 year old Emily Turner. The mother of three was found dead inside her home from a fentanyl overdose.
Massengale also sold fentanyl to Thrift. He then distributed the drugs to a man who died the following day from the effects of the fentanyl.
Massengale has been senteced to 22 years in prison. Wolvington and Thrift were sentenced 17 and 14 years respectively.
