Two people are dead following separate crashes in Laurens County over the weekend. The first happened around 9:45 Friday night on I-26 westbound near the 47 mile marker. Master Trooper Mitchell Ridgeway of the South Carolina Highway Patrol says, the driver of a Chevy Pickup ran off the right side of the road, overcorrected then went off the left side of the road and hit a median barrier.
The second fatal crash happened around 7:30 Saturday night on Highway 25 near Highway 252 about 2 miles north of Ware Shoals. Master Trooper Gary Miller says, the driver of a Ram Truck ran off the road near the exit ramp for 252 , went up and embankment and into a group of trees. The drivers in both crashes were pronounced dead at the scene.
