A proposal to build restaurant and retail spaces on the track of an Upstate raceway has been denied. The Pickens County Planning Commission voted down a proposal Monday for Greenville-Pickens Speedway.
A real estate developer is building a multi-use industrial park on the racetrack property. It's a three phase plan; phase one is underway with 6 warehouses currently being built.
Plans for Phase Two were approved yesterday, which will add four buildings on the property. Phase Three, which was denied, would have resulted in nearly 10 buildings being built on the speedway's track.
