An Upstate man will spend nearly the next two decades behind bars after a shooting more than three years ago.

Court records show that 42 year old, Robert Antonio Clayton entered guilty pleas to attempted murder and other charges related to the shooting.

The incident started when Clayton went to the victim's home and began firing at her house. The woman was in her vehicle in the driveway and drove off as Clayton fired at her car.

Clayton then chased the woman and then dumped the gun out the window. It was found wrapped in a shirt and was found by a passer-by and was turned into police.

The incident was also captured on surveillance video. Clayton has been sentenced to 18 years in the South Carolina Department of Corrections.
