A man who initially fled the Upstate after a 2022 shooting will spend the next two decades behind bars. The 13th Circuit Solicitor's Office says 34 year old, Juan Carlos Gallegos Ramirez pleaded guilty to a charge of attempted murder.
Court records say, Ramirez shot his ex-girlfriend after he lured her to his home in Fountain Inn to retrieve her stuff after their break-up. Following the shooting, Ramirez fled the area and was captured in South Texas just minutes from the Mexican Border.
Ramirez has been sentenced to 20 years in the South Carolina State Prison System.
