An Upstate manufacturing plant is set to permanently close before the one-year anniversary of a fatal shooting.
The Fränkische USA plant in Anderson County is set to begin a phased shutdown over the course of the year, beginning in April, just before the anniversary of a shooting at the location that left two dead in early April of last year.
The plant, which was first created in 2003 before being expanded in 2013, will be shut down completely by December of this year.
No reason was given for the shutdown that will be laying off 164 workers, but we have reached out to Frankische for comment on their announcement.
