An assault suspect in Western North Carolina now faces additional and more serious charges. The McDowell County Sheriff's Office responded to an assault on April 25th. Once they arrived, Deputies met with a female victim who had noticeable wounds to her neck.
She told them that 29 year old, Jamie Christopher Mckinney had choked her until she was unable to breathe. Mckinney was arrested for assault on the scene.
The Sheriff's Office now says, that further investigation has led to additional charges of rape and kidnapping against Mckinney. He's being held on a bond of over half-a-million dollars.
