
A Western North Carolina man has pleaded guilty to 2nd degree murder after a deadly shooting, just over two years ago.
The Buncombe County District Attorney's Office says 27 year old, Javorie Thompson shot and killed Jeraun Spencer in 2023. Spencer's body was found in a wooded area in Candler.
Investigators determined that Spencer was shot while inside a car in West Asheville prior to his body being dumped in the woods. Thompson was arrested nearly a week later during a traffic stop on I-40.
Thompson will serve a minimum of nearly 12 years and just over 15 years in the North Carolina State Prison System.
