Grab the Ibuprofen, there's a "Strikesgving" going on at Charlotte-Douglas International airport. Service workers have gone on strike... to protest what they say are unlivable wages.

The AP reports Employees of ABM and Prospect Airport Services cast ballots Friday to authorize the work stoppage in North Carolina, which a spokesperson said began, Monday morning.

Union Officials said in a statement workers would demand “an end to poverty wages and respect on the job during the holiday travel season.” Most of them earn between $12.50 and $19 an hour.

An ABM cabin cleaner said  “We’re on strike today because this is our last resort. We can’t keep living like this,” “We’re taking action because our families can’t survive.”

A late morning rally in the form of a "Strikesgiving" lunch is expected, in place of a Thanksgiving meal. Prospect Airport Services said it recognizes the seriousness of the situation and ABM said it would take steps to minimize disruptions from any demonstrations.
