The Upstate's largest city is set to create a new position in what they say is an effort in promoting inclusivity to the LGBTQ community. The Greenville City Council voted this week to unanimously approve a resolution to be more welcoming to people of those lifestyles. As part of that, the City will appoint a staff member, as the liaison to that community. The city says, it scored rather low in a 2021 study of how LGBTQ groups are treated. The city manager will make the appointment of the liaison. Travel site Thrillist.Com named Columbia, South Carolina's friendliest city to those groups , earlier this year. This will be a 1st for the city, as this position has not existed previously. Do you agree with the City funding this position and appointing a liaison to these groups? Let us know, below.
