National School Lunch Program safe from corn dog recall...

On October 4, 2025, the Food Safety and Inspection Service announced a recall of nearly 4 million pounds of chicken corn dogs made by Foster Poultry Farms of Livingston, California.

The recall was issued after multiple consumer complaints about pieces of wood found in the batter. At least five people reported injuries.

The recalled corn dogs were produced between July 30, 2024 and August 4, 2025 and were shipped nationwide to retail and institutional buyers. According to the FSIS website, some of the products were distributed to schools for commercial sale, but they were not part of the USDA’s National School Lunch Program.

A total of 16 products are included in the recall.
