The Foo family gathered in Boston over the weekend as the Foo Fighters took the stage on Friday with their new drummer behind the kit, while also inviting young Shane Hawkins up to help tribute his late dad, Taylor Hawkins.

"We’ve been in this band so long, we really are a family," frontman Dave Grohl said during Foo Fighters’ headlining set at the Boston Calling festival over the weekend. “And our families are with us tonight because we need to do this together,” before welcoming one of his "favorite drummers in the world," late drummer Taylor Hawkins’ teen son, Shane Hawkins, to the stage to perform an awesome rendition of "I’ll Stick Around." Dave Grohl’s daughter, Violet Grohl, also took the stage, performing with her dad on “Shame Shame.”
As you can see in the clip above, shared by Anthrax guitarist and master of metal himself, Scott Ian, Shane was laser-focused and fully in the pocket while performing and soloing through the track -- which fans have actually witnessed before, during the official tribute concert for his father in Los Angeles.
On top of this incredible preview footage of what to expect on the upcoming Foos' headlining tour dates, the band has offered up another track from their forthcoming 11th album, But Here We Are, scheduled for release on June 2.
Check out the epic, 10-minute mini-movie for their fourth single, "The Teacher," below -- directed by multimedia artist Tony Oursler -- as well as the Foos' full Boston Calling festival setlist.
