On Tuesday, January 18, the Recording Academy announced that the 64th Annual GRAMMY Awards have been rescheduled for Sunday, April 3, 2022. The announcement comes after the Recording Academy released a statement about the award show’s postponement from its initial January 31, 2022 date.

The prestigious music award show is still set to be hosted once again by Trevor Noah. However, the show will no longer take place at Los Angeles’ Crypto.com Arena (formerly known as the Staples Center). The ceremony will now be held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. This is the first time the show will be held in Nevada.
Previously, Los Angeles has been the host city for the telecasted GRAMMYs 39 times. The show has also been held in New York City. The move to Las Vegas will mark the first time the telecasted show has been held anywhere else besides Los Angeles or New York since 1973.
The 64th annual broadcast was first postponed due to growing concerns about the current COVID-19 Omircron variant surge. Enough artists and executives voiced their reluctance about appearing at the event, which ultimately lead the Recording Academy to once again change the date of the annual ceremony.
The 64th Annual GRAMMYS will air on April 3, 2022, at 8PM ET on the CBS Television Network and will be available to stream live and on demand on Paramount+. You can find the full list of nominees here.
