The ‘Barbie’ movie has now been out for over a week, but excitement for the film is yet to die down. All over the country, Barbie themed events and activities have taken over and even more are being planned. Now, yet another has been announced for DFW as next month The Whippersnapper in Dallas will transform into a Barbie themed pop up.
On August 6, The Whippersnapper on McMillan Avenue will close as it transforms into a real-life version of the iconic Barbie DreamHouse. From August 10 through September 30 the bar will be known as “BAR-bie” and will feature decorations, food and drinks themed after the beloved doll. “Everyone has their own take on the doll, and we can’t wait to see all the different ‘Barbs’ and Ken that walk through our doors,” said Phil Schanbaum, co-founder of This and That Hospitality.
Some of the decorations inside the bar will include a Corvette bed, a digital photobooth, an accessory wall and more. According to WFAA, Barbie's burger, Teresa’s Tenders, the California Club, and custom cocktails such “Life in Plastic” and “He’s just Ken” will be featured on the menu. Soon, all of DFW will be a Barbie girl in a Barbie world.
