The American Airlines Center has been the home of the Dallas Mavericks and Dallas Stars since 2001, but come next season fans can expect a much different look. It was recently announced that the arena will receive a major upgrade this summer, giving fans an even better experience during games and concerts. Some of the renovations are already underway as the changes should be complete by the start of the next Mavs and Stars season.
Dallas Mavericks and Dallas Stars’ fans that have recently sat in the upper deck of the arena may have noticed a more comfortable seat than what they were previously used to. That’s because as part of the recently announced American Airlines Center renovations, the arena has already got to work on upgrading the seats in the 300-level. According to Dallas Morning News, the plan is to replace all 19,134 of the arena’s original seats.
Along with the changes to seating, the arena will also replace the Jumbo Tron with a new LED Center Hung Display with four curved and angled underbelly screens with 360-degree video capability. The changes to American Airlines Center are expected to cost $18.5 million. With these changes, fans should enjoy the game a bit more, even if their team loses.
