Driving through construction can be extremely frustrating, but most of the time the end result is worth it. That's exactly what the city of Arlington will be hoping for as they are set to begin a new project to fix a number of roads throughout the city. The $10.8 million project will make 29 street segments smoother and extend their lifespans.

Starting October 3, the City of Arlington's Public Works Department will start working on the 2022 Mill and Overlay program to fix multiple roads in Arlington. According to CW33, The program is designed to resurface and maintain streets categorized as "yellow streets", or roads that need attention to prevent deterioration and costly rebuilds. Some of the improvements include milling existing asphalt pavement, repairing road base failures, resurfacing roadways with a new two-inch asphalt surface and replacing sections of dilapidated concrete curbs, gutters and drive approaches.

No end date for the project has been announced at this time. This program is being funded by voter-approved Street Maintenance Sales Tax revenue. Soon enough, the roads of Arlington will be looking good as new.
