One of the most famous battleships in US history is hitting the ocean once again, although this time for a much different reason. The 108-year-old Battleship Texas had been serving as a museum in Houston since returning from war in 1948, but after three years closed the ship is now being towed to Galveston for repairs.
Battleship Texas has seen quite a bit of action throughout its history, serving in both World War I and World War II. Once known as the most powerful weapon in the world, the Battleship has clearly seen better days, as it had been closed since August 2019 due to a leaky hull. Now, the ship is being towed from Houston Ship Channel to Gulf Copper Galveston for repairs in preparation of reopening.

In order to safely tow the battleship, 750,000 gallons of expanded foam was added to the ship to plug up the leaks, according to Fox News. The repair of the ship will cost $35 million. Once complete, the ship should be ready for action once again.
