Growing up, many people thought by now robots performing tedious tasks would be a normal occurrence. However, most people got their prediction of the future wrong, as instead the closest thing to that are the Boston Dynamic robots that have previously gone viral for dancing and performing random acts. Now, the viral robot is back, and this time it is showing off yet another new trick.
Boston Dynamics recently shared clip of the fan favorite robot, Spot. The robot dog showed off some new skills in the viral clip, as in the video it can be seen jump roping and picking up laundry. “Now that Spot has an arm in addition to legs and cameras, it can do mobile manipulation. It finds and picks up objects (trash), tidies up the living room, opens doors, operates switches and valves, tends the garden, and generally has fun,” said Boston Dynamics.
While many online were impressed, plenty were asking when they will be able to have a robot dog of their own, after yet another viral video. While there is still no word on that, fans can expect plenty more viral videos in the future. We may not ever have robot butlers, so these dancing robots will have to do.
