As bands become more successful, they usually hope their earliest recordings are never made public, as most have far surpassed that skill level by the time they make it. However, when a band has reached the level of Queen, even the bad recordings are beloved by fans. Recently, Queen guitarist Brian May revealed he had unearthed a cassette featuring recording of one of the band's earliest gigs, but May claims he isn't sure what to do with the audio.
The recording comes from a Queen performance that took place in 1970 at London's Imperial College, according to Loudwire. "Hearing Freddie [Mercury] at that point in his development is fascinating. He had all the will and charisma and passion, but he didn't have the opportunity to harness that voice yet," said May of the early performance.
May was not aware the recording existed, and now isn't sure what should be done with the cassette. Many fans are hoping he finds a way to release the audio. Maybe more recordings will be found in the future as well.
