Back in 2021, beloved Canadian coffee and doughnut chain, Tim Hortons, announced they were expanding to Texas and now two years later they are ready to see what the rest of the Lone Star state is all about. It was recently announced that Tim Hortons had hired a real estate firm to help find a new location in DFW. The new location is expected to be open by 2023 or 2024.

Ever since opening their first Texas location in Katy last year, Tim Hortons has been ready to expand even further throughout the south. Their next move will seemingly be coming to the metroplex, as they are currently looking for free-standing drive-through sites to purchase in the area. “You have these big metro areas where population growth is expected to increase above the national average. So fundamentally, it’s a really good place for us to participate in that growth,” said Tim Hortons’ head of development in the U.S., Nicholas Henrich.

According to Dallas Morning News, Tim Hortons is also looking to expand to Austin and San Antonio, along with cities outside of metros such as Tyler and Beaumont. The new locations are expected to be “the latest and greatest” in terms of design and menu. Soon, DFW will know if the beloved coffee and doughnut chain is worth the hype.
