One of the great traditions in college football is fans gathering early in the morning to stand behind the set of College GameDay holding up signs in hopes of getting on television. While sometimes these signs are a little inappropriate for television, often they are hilarious and are quickly turned into viral memes. Over the weekend, one college student found a new way to go viral behind the College GameDay crew, holding up a sign asking for beer money, and luckily for him; the fans listened.

College GameDay was in Oxford, Mississippi over the weekend for the Texas A&M vs Ole Miss game. For Ole Miss student Jack Gililland, that meant camping out the night before to make sure he had a good position behind the set, with the chance of being seen on television. Gililland indeed got a good spot and took advantage of it, holding up a sign that read “NEED BEER MONEY $” along with his Venmo username.

The student was shown on television for less than 10 seconds, but it was enough to get noticed. According to Bro Bible, Gililland received over $4,000 thanks to his sign. Hopefully he won’t spend all of it on beer money.
