Your appetizers are going to look a lot different at Chili’s from now on.

After 35 years, the Dallas-based restaurant has removed its Skillet Queso and White Queso from the menu, in favor of their new “Southwest Queso.”

George Felix, chief marketing officer for Chili’s, told the Dallas Morning News that customers expressed “dissatisfaction with Chili’s queso lineup for the last few years,” and have accounted for just 1% of total restaurant sales.

The restaurant says their new Southwest Queso “finally gives guests the queso they deserve.”

The new recipe is made with American cheese, cheddar cheese, green chiles, onions and lime, and served with Chili’s tortilla chips.

And unlike the Skillet Beef Queso, the Southwest Queso is vegetarian.

Obviously, some Chili’s fans are not happy about the change.

The two skillet quesos will be served until Oct. 6, 2025, then replaced by Southwest Queso on Oct. 7, 2025.
