Who knows when the market will actually reset enough for the average person to afford a home.
If you’re interested, a new report found that Dallas and Fort Worth were ranked among the top cities in the U.S. for manufactured, aka mobile, home living!
Both Dallas and Fort Worth ranked among the top cities in the nation with the largest mobile home inventory.
The study, conducted by StorageCafe, found that Texas as a whole had the second-highest share of manufactured housing in the nation.
There are 776,232 manufactured homes in Texas, with Dallas home to 6,195 units, which ranks them No. 20 nationally. Just behind them, Fort Worth has 6,069 mobile homes.
Arlington (No. 48) and Denton (No. 98) were the only two other North Texas cities to earn spots in the report. Arlington has 3,818 manufactured homes, and Denton 2,441 units.
Obviously, the main appeal for manufactured homes is their affordability. According to CultureMap Dallas, the average sale price for a mobile home in Texas was $112,500 in 2024, or less than half of the median sale price for all Texas homes ($313,200).
