If there’s one thing adults take way too seriously, it’s youth sports, and you can imagine just how intense youth sports can get around these parts.

Over the weekend in Highland Village, a little league coach from Dallas was arrested after he got into a tussle with an umpire right in the middle of a game!

The incident occurred at Unity Park Baseball Field, where apparently the coach was tossed from the game by the umpire but refused to leave.  Words were exchanged, things turned physical, and the police were called.

Even worse, the man’s son was at the game, and when police approached, they noticed the boy trying to hit the people holding his dad away from the umpire!

According to the Cross Timbers Gazette, one officer was injured the attempt to arrest the man, later identified as James Nowell Johnson.

Johnson was arrested and taken to the Highland Village Police Department Jail where he claimed he felt faint and was immediately medically transported to a local hospital.  At the hospital, Johnson refused medical treatment and said there was nothing medically wrong, he just wanted better food and water.

Johnson is facing charges of two counts of assault, evading arrest, and false report.  His son was not taken into custody.
