Everything is bigger in Texas. The hats…the hair…even the tortas.
Tortas Insurgentes near Love Field in Dallas is challenging its patrons to take on their Mega Torta, an eight-pound behemoth of a sandwich packed with beans, a quarter pound of bacon, half pound of chorizo, one pound of sausage, one pound of beef, one pound of chicken, one pound of ham, three eggs, cheese, tomatoes, onions, jalapenos, carrots, and two avocados.
Co-owners Oscar and Haydee Rodriguez told WFAA that it’s big enough to feed 10 people, but if one person can finish it, plus two drinks by themselves, the sandwich is free, and they’ll also get $150 dollars as a reward.
If you fail to finish the Mega Torta, it’ll cost you $75.
For those intimidated by the Mega Torta, they also serve a regular size version of the sandwich.
Tortas Insurgentes has several locations in the D-FW area, but the Mega Torta is only served at the location near Love Field at 3701 W. Northwest Highway, Dallas.
