The Dallas Fire Department had an extra challenge on their hands while responding to a call in South Dallas when a woman repeatedly stabbed the fire hose with a knife while crews were battling the blaze.

The fire was on the 2900 block of Prosperity Ave around 1am on Friday.  Firefighters began noticing lower pressure in their hoses, which is when they saw 37-year-old Jermecia Murphy stabbing multiple holes into the hose, making it unusable.

According to WFAA, officials determined Murphy was the one to actually start the fire, which began in the front room of the house where Murphy had reportedly ignited combustibles in the room using a heat source of unknown origin.

Murphy was arrested and is facing charges of criminal mischief and first-degree arson.

Nobody was injured during the incident, though the American Red Cross was notified to help those displaced.
