Danny Elfman’s name is included on the credits of some of the most beloved movies of all time. However, the composer and former Oingo Boingo member recently said he was not a fan of one of his most iconic film scores. According to Elfman, he was “terribly unhappy” with the final score for Tim Burton’s 1989 film ‘Batman.’

Over the years, many stories have been told about the music for Tim Burton’s ‘Batman.’ Due to creative differences, two different soundtracks were released; one featuring songs written and performed by Prince, and the other showcasing Elfman’s score. However, despite being a commercial success and winning a GRAMMY, Elfman recently shared his disappointment in the film’s music, according to NME.

“I was terribly unhappy with the dub in Batman. They did it in the old-school way where you do the score and turn it into the ‘professionals’ who turn the nobs and dub it in. And dubbing had gotten really wonky in those years,” said Elfman. Soon fans will be asking for the Elfman cut of the ‘Batman’ soundtrack.
