The city of Denison recently celebrated the grand opening of The Four Lions Building, home to Pavitra Organic Day Spa and Uniquely Posh Giftery, in downtown Denison.
Alongside a ribbon cutting ceremony, Denison mayor Janet Gott also unveiled a brand new piece of artwork that will adorn the streets of downtown Denison, a sculpture called "Selfie Girl."
It is exactly what you think it sounds like.
The citizens of Denison did not have to pay for the structure, but it still left a lot of residents asking…"why?"
One person wrote on Facebook, "There are better things to make a monument and display downtown than a "selfie girl." Another added, "Such a waste of money that could have been put to better use. Just what downtown needs, a selfie girl."
