Drivers in Dallas-Fort Worth spent nearly two extra hours in rush hour traffic last year

If your commute to work takes you through Dallas, we hope you really like sitting in traffic.

Since the pandemic, drive times have only increased across the country, and that goes especially for DFW. According to new data from TomTom, drivers in Dallas-Fort Worth spent nearly two extra hours in rush hour traffic last year!

In 2023, an extra ten seconds was added to the time it takes to drive about six miles.  And it seems that those ten seconds really add up over your drive to and from work.

According to the data, working from home one day a week can save local commuters $52 in gas, equating to 17 fewer hours of driving annually, and working from home three days per week could save 51 hours on the road and $157 in costs.

And unfortunately, your drive home from work is longer than your drive to work.  According to TomTom, post-work rush hour adds an average of four minutes to a six-mile trip, compared to only a three-minute longer morning commute.
