Getting a new business started can be extremely difficult for a number of reasons, but a big one for many is cost. Luckily for aspiring entrepreneurs in DFW, one local landlord is giving businesses a chance to grow by offering up a storefront for free. The space is located at 5440 E. Grand Ave. in East Dallas and for the next two months it will be home to a number of new pop up shops.
Patrick Donlin purchased the property at 5440 E. Grand Ave, earlier this year, and since has been trying to figure out a way lure in businesses to the space that has been vacant for over 20 years. That's why he has decided to offer up the space to growing businesses for experimental pop ups. "Ultimately, we are looking for a retail tenant to move into the space in January, but we don't think we're going to rent it in the next 60 days, so we're making the space available and hopefully someone can benefit from that," said Donlin.
According to Dallas Culture Map, those looking to take up the space for a period of time can do so by calling 214-484-8085 or emailing kristyn.taylor@heartlanditc.com for bookings. While the space is free during weekdays, they will charge $500 for weekend pop ups. With this space, some DFW businesses may finally have the chance to show the metroplex what they got.
