Over the years, many celebrities have claimed Texas as their home. While some were lucky enough to be born in the Lone Star state, others have become honorary citizens of Texas by living here or representing the state through their art. Now, a group of Texans will be honored with the Texas Medal of Arts award, including one big name actor from DFW.

On Wednesday, the 11 Texas Medal of Arts Award recipients were announced at the Kimbell Art Museum in Fort Worth. According to Dallas Culture Map, this year’s list included DFW’s own actor Luke Wilson, who is known for roles in ‘The Royal Tenenbaums,’ ‘Old School,’ ‘Legally Blonde,’ and Fort Worth-set ‘12 Mighty Orphans.’ Wilson wasn’t the only DFW native receiving the award, as designer Lela Rose will also be honored.
