There is something ingrained in every dog to make them despise any and all postal workers. Any time mail is being dropped off to a home, it’s a guarantee the family’s dog will start barking uncontrollably, ready to attack. Of course, sometimes dogs get loose and attack the postal worker just trying to make a delivery. Now, the postal service has unveiled their annual dog attack report, and the recent study found DFW to be one of the worst cities for dog attacks on postal workers.

Postal workers were attacked by dogs more than 5,400 times in 2021, and a good portion of those occurred in North Texas. According to CW33, DFW ranked sixth on the postal service’s list of cities with the most dog attacks on postal workers. For 2021 there were a total of 38 dog attacks on postal workers throughout DFW.

Luckily, the metroplex wasn’t the worst area in Texas for postal workers, as Houston ranked as the second worst city. As for state rankings, Texas was the second worst, with 368 dog attacks on postal workers. Maybe this is the real reason for those delivery delays.
