With New Year’s Eve falling on a Saturday night this year, it was guaranteed liquor stores would be busy. However, with liquor stores throughout DFW set to be closed both Sunday and Monday this year, many customers knew they had to stock up. That’s why photos from a North Texas Spec's went viral over the weekend, showing massive lines of Texans preparing for the booze-free 61 hours.

On Saturday, photos began to spread throughout the internet showing Spec's in Dallas with a line of people extending through the entire parking lot. With locations closing at 9.PM. on Saturday and not opening up until 10 A.M. on Tuesday, Texans knew they had to get to Spec's bright and early. Not only were customers preparing to go 61 hours without being able to buy booze, but certain Spec's throughout the metroplex were also offering a “bourbon drop,” making lines even longer.

According to Fox 4 News, the store in Dallas opened at 10 A.M., and the line remained well passed 2 P.M. Hopefully everyone was able to stock up, or else tomorrow’s story will be about liquor store break-ins throughout the metroplex.
