Drone deliveries are on the way to DFW, as a number of businesses are planning to launch new services in the metroplex over the next few years. Companies like Amazon and Walgreens will begin delivering items to North Texas homes using drones in the near future, but before they are here, Walmart has another idea to entice customers. Walmart recently announced they will bring their Inhome delivery service to DFW, where employees will not only delivery items, but put them away inside a customer’s home as well.
With Walmart already remodeling 50 DFW locations this year, they decided to add two new services to their fleet of stores as well. Along with drone deliveries, which are expected to begin at the end of this year, Walmart will also begin offering Inhome, a service where Walmart employees bring groceries directly into customers’ homes, including putting items in the kitchen or garage refrigerator and picking up returns. According to Dallas Morning News, this program is expected to begin this summer.

Inhome was launched by Walmart back in 2019 and is already operating in Kansas City, Arkansas, Pittsburgh, Washington, D.C., Phoenix, Atlanta and West Palm Beach. The service costs $19.95 per month or $148 per year. Maybe their next service will have employees cook and feed customers as well.
