Dickey’s Barbeque is giving back to their customers in a major way, but not for reasons anyone would have wanted. The restaurant chain recently agreed to pay $2.35 million as part of a class action lawsuit. The settlement comes after a data security breach took place involving customers’ credit and debit card information.

Any Dickey’s Barbeque customer that paid for their meal using a credit card from April 2019 to October 2020 may be eligible to receive money from the restaurant thanks to a class action lawsuit. According to Dallas Morning News, the lawsuit claimed “unauthorized actors” accessed Dickey’s point-of-sales systems, obtaining customers’ credit and debit cardholder information. While Dickeys’ denied the allegations, they agreed to implement significant data security enhancements.

Customers can make their relief claim at DickeysClassAction.com. Submissions are due April 22, 2023. Hopefully the settlement is large enough to cover a meal at the restaurant.
